Career coaching to improve your confidence

How to improve your confidence with career coaching.

I have coached lots of people who doubted their abilities, compared themselves to others and felt like an imposter in their own lives or jobs.

Many people I’ve coached worried that they were not good enough or hadn’t done enough to meet their own or others’ expectations.

Feelings of pressure and stress impacted on their wellbeing and ability to get things done.

The solution I offer is to support you to build a solid foundation of self-belief.

How does career coaching help with confidence?

With a solid foundation of self-belief you will know your worth and can feel more confident in your abilities.

When you are confident in your abilities you can stop comparing yourself to other people and feeling like an imposter.

When you stop feeling like an imposter you can let go of what you cannot control and focus your time and energy.

How does career coaching work?

One of the reasons I love coaching is that every person I meet and the challenges they face are unique to them.  So each session is shaped for you and what you want to achieve.

We start with our free 30 minute Information Session during which you can tell me about your challenges, ask questions and find out how coaching can help you.

We then agree your overall goal and identify our headline topics to work on, for example ‘to improve your confidence in your abilities’.

Next I help you to prepare for our first coaching session.  Read more to see how a coaching session works.

What happens during a career coaching session?

We work together on exercises, alongside supportive insightful questions, which help you to acknowledge and break free from the ways in which you limit your own success.

From here we move to a positive strengths-based approach, where we focus on what you have achieved and what you can do in the future.

Our sessions are individual to you.  I have a wide knowledge of a range of coaching techniques and exercises, which gives us the freedom to explore what gets you the best results.

Here are some of the things we do during a coaching session to build a solid foundation of self-belief.

  • Letting the good things in and celebrating past successes.
  • Identifying the types of events that activate your negative thoughts and examining how these thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour.
  • Developing resilience strategies to enable you to respond rather than react to your activating events.
  • Changing your relationship with your negative thoughts so they no longer demand the bulk of your attention.
  • Challenging long held negative base assumptions about yourself so you can shift to a positive, fact-based view.
  • Supporting you to let go of the need for perfectionism and accept what you can and cannot control.
  • Identifying your natural strengths and abilities and developing strategies to introduce these to your daily life and plans going forward.
